The plaque depicts delicately modelled emblems of the two air squadrons who
flew together - RAF & RCAF in a joint mission at the end of World War 2.
This aircraft tragically crashed at Harmondsworth Moor, killing all the crew.
The aircraft was recently discovered and British Airways and the Ministry of the
Environment decided to commission Sue to model the commemorative plaque,
which was placed at Harmondsworth Moor, the site close to where it crashed.
Shown here at the dedication ceremony is the Chairman of British Airways, the
present day WCAF Wing commander of the WCAF crew who died,
and a representative of British Airways Civil flying crew. |
